Aki Teriyaki is back in action!
She's added some new things to the page including a section for photos, an event calendar, and links to our Twitter and Facebook pages!
In the next few days or so, you'll see posts about recent conventions and events that came to our beloved Chicagoland area, so keep a look out for those!
Thank you all so much for continuing to support us. As a show of our gratitude, we'll be posting a very special video very soon. (Hint: It involves ramune and funny faces.)

Takin' It Easy
Greetings, everyone!
This came up kinda late, but we have some news that isn't all that great.
Unfortunately, Aki has been told by her doc that she needs to seriously slow down for a bit.
There will probably be a lack of steady posting for a little while, as there already has been since last month.
Things should be up and running again in mid to late August when Aki is up and running again.
In the meantime, we'll try to keep posting as much as we can.
Thank you, everyone!

Peelander-Z at Reggie's!
If you like to have fun, you need to see Peelander-Z live. You really do. I don't mean go to YouTube and watch some videos of them performing. You really need to be right there in the audience during one of their shows!
The colorful crew of rockers from Planet Peelander landed at Reggie's Music Joint in Chicago as part of a tour supporting their new release, "Space Vacation." I had the pleasure of talking to Peelander Yellow and Peelander Pink before and after the show. It was a happy reunion when they recognized me from my days of cashiering at Mitsuwa Marketplace. They are a fun and friendly bunch, and Yellow was not stingy with hugs!
Now I've heard from a quite a few people how the band interacts with the crowd during their performances, but what I experienced was far from what I had expected. We sang along to the songs. We played limbo. (Thank you Yellow for making sure I didn't get hit by the limbo stick!) We danced with a giant alien squid moving among us. Our out-of-this-world buddies even brought members of the audience up on stage and let them play their instruments!
Peelander-Z kept an amazing amount of energy throughout the show that radiated into the crowd. There was not a single dull moment! They plan on coming back to Chicago someday, so you and I better be ready for them!
If you'd like to see the photos that I was able to take during the show or want to keep up with the band, you can do so through the links posted below.

Japan Nite 2012
We had a great time at Japan Nite!

NOKIES, Kao=S, and ZZZ's were the three bands that played this year. Each of the groups had a different style, but they were all darn good at what they did!
The performance by NOKIES was fun and energetic rock. Even if you're not the type to dance or clap along to songs, these guys might change that. The frontman even dropped into the crowd during the set to dance with the concert-goers. The same fellow said "Enjoy your music and all your life" as the set came to a close. With a band like NOKIES, it's easier to do just that.
Kao-S is one of those groups that will have your attention the whole time with their stunning appeal to the ears and eyes. With guitar, shamisen, beautiful voices, and choreography that even involved a sword dance, Kao-S had an very unique performance indeed.
ZZZ's gave us an amazingly powerful performance. They even got a good portion of the crowd moshing. Even though it wasn't to join in, the bassist and the drummer each jumped in the crowd. These lovely ladies know how to ROCK.
We're definitely going to keep our eyes on these bands as they continue their musical journeys! We highly recommend that you do the same. Here's some ways you can keep up with them!
